Taking Responsibility for Your Health . . . Naturally

We live in the world's wealthiest country, yet we rank dead last in health care, we have the
highest rate of cancer, heart disease, obesity and abuse more alcohol, prescription and
illegal drugs than any other country. We are lead to believe health comes in pill form, which is
promoted extensively by the pharmaceutical companies and other health for profit
organizations . . . .  and it all comes at a staggering price financially and lives lost.

Cancer alone is a $168,000,000,000 industry and is probably the most prosperous business in the world. At the beginning of the last
century, one person in twenty would get cancer. In the 1940s it was one out of every sixteen people. In the 1970s it was one person out of
ten. Today one person out of three gets cancer in the course of their life. See
Cancer Makes Too Much Money to Cure .

The current path of drug company research will not lead to a cure for cancer, but will perpetuate their multibillion dollar business model,
which earns profits on the basis of withholding curative cancer treatments from the healthcare system. The number of people dying each
year and each day has changed little in more than 10 years.

The simple fact is that the cancer industry employs too many people and produces too much income to allow a cure to be found. All of the
current research on cancer drugs is based on the premise that the cancer market will
grow, not shrink, all at the expense of those
diagnosed and living with the disease.

Holistic Health
Many of us have made decisions to try to avoid interacting with the healthcare system and the pharmaceutical masters who control most
doctors in America whenever possible. Holistic medicine, or “holistic health”, is usually associated with the topic of alternative medicine,
but it is becoming more mainstream. Holistic Health is actually an approach to life. Rather than focusing on illness or specific parts of the
body, this approach to health considers the whole person and how we interact with our environment. It emphasizes the connection of
mind, body, and spirit.

Biking is the universal activity for health, fitness and for active transportation. Bike for Your Life is not a race or a fundraiser for the laterst
cure, but a holistic approach to encourage and educate people about taking responsibility for our own physical
AND mental health . . .
naturally, through biking. Yes, this includes cancer. Please remember, illness is not normal despite what doctors tell you! This is the
message and what BIKE FOR YOUR LIFE is about.
Why Biking? Why Not Any Exercise?
All physical forms of exercise is essential and relatively impossible to achieve optimal health without it. Your body was designed for movement and
it's never too late to get started. And biking has proven to be the most effective form of exercise to get the body moving.

For example, biking just half an hour a day reduces risk of cancer by 34 percent according to a new Swedish report published in the British
Journal of Cancer. The study, which looked at more than 40,000 Scandinavian men ages 45-79, found a direct relationship between the amount
of time men spent cycling and the risk of being diagnosed with cancer and their cancer recovery rate.

The researchers compared responses from the men with seven years of medical records and the group's 3700 cancer cases to find the
association. In addition to the reduction in cancer incidence, daily cyclists were also 33 percent more likely to survive and recover from cancer.
And for each hour of moderate exercise, risk of cancer mortality dropped by 12 percent.
How it Works
We schedule, promote and organize bike rides/seminars/clinics to educate clients about the many health benefits of riding a bike.

Yoga and other holistic practitioners will introduce alternative methods of healing that has nothing to do with medicine, pills but everything to do
with how your body can heal, prevent and cure through food choices and suggested lifestyle ideas. Plus it's fun and a great way to meet and
network with like minded people.
